May 24th

So LOST concluded with a heavily emotional finale last night that had me rocking back and forth and sobbing my eyes out, leaving me hoarse and drained. Not all questions were answered for me but it was 2.5 hours that had me completely captivated and leaving me feeling at the end like I'd just got off the world's best roller coaster ride, smiling in total awe but with shaky legs. I'm still in a funk and finding it hard to accept that an era has finished with the best program ever shown on television now destined to become repeats. I keep looking behind me at my little LOST shrine on my office wall and contemplating what on earth can fill this void?

May 23rd

Rob on his beloved 60yr old tractor, which he let me drive! On the road! And I've never driven a tractor before! Ain't they cute?

May 22nd

Rob had to work on Saturday so I went for a bike ride and found this abandonment in Gordonsville.

May 21st

First, an apology because although I set myself the rule that I could post a photo the following day as long as it was taken on the actual day, I fell short on Friday. I stayed with Rob and could not log into Google blogs on Saturday due to lack of hi speed internet, and believe me, that actually was no complaint.
Back to Friday. This was a totally poo day for me. I decided to wear high heels to work despite my back not being better and suffered the consequences, having to spend spells laying on my office floor. Then when I managed to hobble out to Stuart to go to my chiropractor's appointment, he failed to go into gear, resulting in being towed to a shop and me canceling my appointment. Mike, my boss was a superstar and loaned me his car for the weekend on condition that I drop off some shirts and jackets at UVA for an event on Saturday. Not a problem for me since Rob lived relatively close by. I got there on time and placed my phone on the center console where it promptly slid underneath the sound sytem and became out of reach. I seriously could not believe the way this day was heading. So I had no choice but to get UVA's head coach on his knees with alum keys and pull a panel off to dig for my phone. Bless him, he did it with smiles and was such a gentleman. So eventually, I was on my way to Rob's house without further incident and mighty glad to finally be able to kick off my shoes and relax. And the back held up. And here's a photo of the Cavalier's Football truck.

May 20th

Saw this boat in a carpark near work. What kind of salesman thinks he going to sell a bunch of these to lunchtime shoppers who are trying to avoid eye contact with him as they scuttle towards Target. It was actually very funny to watch.

May 19th

My iPhone has the crappiest camera EVER on it and for some reason took this in black and white. Rob and I had dinner in Culpeper at a spanking gawgeous restaurant called It's About Thyme. Rob had half of a cow's arse on his plate and placed his fork against the steak to show how deep it was. The food and company were awesome.

May 18th

Not my photo, but one I saw today that my friend Joel posted on Flickr; he captured Emily & I when we were urbexing last Saturday together in Philly.

And this is my photo, a lantern I made from a shell I found on the Outer Banks.

May 17th

An X Ray pinned on the notice board of the chiropractor. I studied and studied it completely unable to understand any of it, but realized why once I'd had my exam. Apparently my back is in such a mess that my brain is working overtime trying to compensate for its imbalance, so no wonder I'm so doolally these days!

May 16th

Kota enjoyed the sunset with me as I sat on the patio and drank a glass of red medicine after my bike ride.

May 15th

Barb and I were trying to find the metro in Rosslyn so I leaned up against an advertisement board and started pulling up Google maps on my phone. While waiting for the map to upload, Barb walked up and pointed to the board I was leaning against. "You've got a map there, sport", she said. The town center map was taller than me with the metro clearly visible in the middle of it. Duh!

Heron was getting a bit lippy at work today so bless him, he took things into his own hands. The peace was astounding, we could hear the machinery! He howled when he took that tape off though...

Poor Squelchie freezing cold in his office because Joe has the AC on so high. It reminded me of a cartoon I drew up on the subject a couple of years ago.

May 4th

I walked up to the store today to replenish my fridge and saw some beautiful blue irises which made me stop and think of Dad. They were his favorite flowers so I bought a bunch. Hi Dad.

May 3rd

Barb and I canceled a walk because of rain and instead sat outside a local bar to see if a storm would develop.

Jeff and I stopped on our bike ride to photograph these pylons. We both have an odd fascination with these things so we both took lots of photos.

May 1st

America!!!! We saw their 40th anniversary concert last night; it was awesome. I managed to get a Gerry Beckley (on the left) guitar pick and everyone was able to meet them afterwards and get autographs. I made friends with a fun couple and found a possible urbexing friend to take my spare ticket. Thanks Rich for this great photo, and thank you and Robyn and Tim for excellent company!
