Because orange is my favorite color, I couldn't believe my luck when I found this stunning geranium to go on my patio today. It's a big plant and I hope to keep this going forever if I can. Note the beautiful gold dusting on the orange petals. Isn't nature exquisite?

April 28th

This is the very cool building I passed on I495 this evening when my gas light came on. Then a very funny thing happened...
So, last week I had my roots redone but I wouldn't consider myself blond, but at the gas station I had what could only be referred to as My First Blond Moment. I pulled up to the pump, got out and realized the tank was on the other side of the car. "Bugger!", I exclaimed loudly, unfortunately causing 3 male heads to swivel in my direction. I got back into the car, circled round the pumps, got out, and another, "Bugger!". I'd done the same thing again. The 3rd time I lucked out, getting the right side, and couldn't believe it when I actually got a round of applause from one of the guys. I curtsied, and they all laughed, thankfully turning what could have been a cringe moment into one of fun. Bloody Hell!

Despite living in a very pretty community, at least 80% or more of residents have empty dull patios or balconies. They simply cannot be bothered. I shall not be one of those people. Let color conquer!

Emblemax had a special delivery today from my Mum in England. She sent a pile of Cadbury Boost bars over for the staff as she knew Joe & Squelchie loved them. T Bird also devoured one immediately and adored it. Thanks Mum!

This morning I had the exquisite pleasure of encountering one of life's slobs on the way to work. He cut me up as we were approaching the traffic lights and we ended up side by side. I observed his morning ritual of hastily ramming 2 candy bars down his gullet washed down with large mouthfuls of Dr Pepper. He then proceeded to thrash a pack of Marlboros against his meaty palm, knocking the tobacco out of the cigarettes rather than packing them, tore off the cellophane and foil, threw those out of the window and finished the routine by opening his door and ejecting a noisy spitball onto the pavement. With a satisfied smirk, he then leaned back and deeply inhaled his first drag of his cigarette. I so badly wanted to take a photo of him but was quite positive that if he had seen me do so, he would have no compunction in stepping out of his cab and walking over to me to twist my nose off, so I settled with an image of his truck. It was only afterwards that I noticed he worked for a pest control company. How ironic...

My friend Robin came round so we could sit on the patio and watch the storm but we only got rain, not the full blown storm with hail as expected. But at least the rain washed away a lot of the heavy pollen that had been settling on vehicles this week.
